ARE YOU TAKING A WAITLIST FOR SCHOOLS OUTSIDE THE 6 SCHOOLS YOU CURRENTLY SERVE?
We are not currently considering offering bus service to additional schools, but there is a drop off option available.
DO YOU HAVE ANY OPENINGS?
We currently have some full and part-time openings. Please contact us if you’d like more information on this subject.
HOW MANY SPOTS DO YOU HAVE?
We have 48 licensed spots as of September 1, 2021
DO YOU COVER SCHOOL CLOSURES?
Yes, professional development days, early dismissals, and Winter and Spring break are included within our fees.
DOES SPARK COVER SUMMER BREAK?
Spark runs from September to June. The Arts Connection runs weekly Summer Wondercamps during the months of July and August.
ARE YOU A LICENSED PROGRAM?
Yes, we are a licensed program overseen by the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
DO YOU ACCEPT GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES?
Yes, we accept subsidies for families who qualify. Please contact us if you have further questions about this.

DO YOU ACCEPT PART-TIME REGISTRATIONS?
While priority is given to families who need care 5 days per week, we do over part time spots based on availability.
ARE YOU ABLE TO PROVIDE CARE FOR A SHIFT WORK SCHEDULE?
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate shift schedules. We require a set weekly schedule and would suggest registering for 5 days/week.

IS UNIFORM MANDATORY AT RENAISSANCE KIDS?
Yes, children are required to wear full uniform every class day of the year, with seasonal appropriate gear.
DOES THE SCHOOL OFFER A LUNCH PROGRAM?
Yes, our school offers a nutrition program that not only encompasses a lunch, but also a morning snack and afternoon snack. The food is prepared by in-house chefs so your child can experience culturally diverse, healthy and nutritious meals daily.
CAN MY CHILD JOIN THE NUTRITION PROGRAM IF HE/SHE HAS ALLERGIES?
What we can do is ensure a nut-free environment. Any children with allergies other then nuts will have to bring their own lunch, as we cannot guarantee an allergen free kitchen using the same tools and cooking instruments. We are unable to do substitutions provided for any food intolerances, sensitivities and religious or personal preferences at the moment.

WHAT AGES OF CHILDREN DOES YOUR SCHOOL ACCEPT?
Renaissance Kids is currently accepting students from ages 12 months to 5 years old.
WHAT ARE THE SCHOOL'S HOURS OF OPERATION?
Renaissance Explorers & Renaissance Discoverers (1-3 years):
- 2 days: Tuesday and Thursday (8:45 am to 4:30 pm)
- 3 days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday (8:45 am to 4:30 pm)
- 5 days Monday to Friday (8:45 am to 4:30 pm)
Renaissance Illuminators & Renaissance Virtuosos (3 – 5 years):
- 5 days: Monday to Friday (8:45 am to 4:30 pm)
- 5 days: Monday to Friday (8:30 am to 12:30 pm)
DOES THE SCHOOL OFFER BEFORE CARE OR AFTERCARE?
Yes, we do. Before care hours are from 7:30 am to 8:45 am. And after care hours are from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
DOES THE SCHOOL OFFER AFFORDABLE CHILDCARE BENEFIT, FORMERLY KNOWN AS CHILDCARE SUBSIDY, THROUGH THE GOVERNMENT?
Yes, once the student is approved for the Affordable Childcare Benefit, we will be able to help families process the claims accordingly.
DOES THE SCHOOL QUALIFY FOR CHILDCARE FEE REDUCTION INITIATIVE (CCFRI)?
Our facility is approved under the Provincial Parent Fee Reduction Initiative. This reduction is currently applicable to Renaissance Explorers, Discoverers, Illuminators, and Virtuosos students only. Preschool is not part of the Parent Fee Reduction Initiative.
WHAT IS THE TEACHER TO CHILD RATIO FOR THE CLASSROOMS?
For our infant and toddler group (under 3 years old), the ratio is 1 to 4.
For our junior kindergarten age group (over 3 years old), the ratio is 1 to 8.
We do strive to provide the best possible care to our families. This is why the ratio listed is the minimal ratio that is governed by the Ministry of Children and Families licensing, but we always have extra Early Childhood Educators and Specialist teachers who are additions to the minimal required ratio, all of who are licensed RA, ECEA, or ECE.
DOES YOUR FACILITY OFFER GRADUAL ENTRY?
We offer a gradual entry system to provide children with a smoother transition for the first 2-3 weeks. We will begin by having your child join the classroom for 2-3 hrs on their first few days of school. Attending a short period of time and gradually increasing to a full day towards the end of the month will allow the teacher to work more closely with the individual to build rapport and a positive relationship. This process is adjusted according to the child’s needs and best interests.
IS PARENT INVOLVEMENT REQUIRED?
Yes. Renaissance Kids strongly believes in cultivating the best support team for the education of your child. We expect continuous and harmonious communications between the school and your family, in the best interests of our students. Opportunities include school events, keeping updated with our newsletters, participating in fundraisers, being available for field trips if needed, and immersing in the community of Renaissance Kids actively.
WHEN DOES MY CHILD MOVE ONTO THE NEXT PROGRAM?
Student movement depends on the suitability and availability of space. Once your child’s teacher notices that they are growing out of the current classroom, needing a bit more challenge and so forth, families and program managers will be contacted to discuss how to further support the student’s learning. This can happen anywhere between a few months prior to birthdates, or after.
WHAT AGE GROUPS DO YOU SERVICE?
Our camps are created for students 6-12 years old. Students must have completed kindergarten to participate in the camps.
WHEN DOES REGISTRATION OPEN?
Registration opens in early April.
HOW MANY CAMPS DO YOU RUN EACH WEEK?
We run between 3-6 camps each week.
ARE YOU A LICENSED CHILDCARE PROVIDER?
We run both licensed and unlicensed camps during the summer months. This distinction is made based on what classroom the camp is running in and it will be identified on the registration page.
DO YOU ACCEPT GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES?
Yes, we accept subsidies for licensed camps.
DO YOU ACCEPT PARTIAL WEEK REGISTRATIONS?
No, you must register for the full week of camp.
CAN I REGISTER MY CHILD IN A CAMP THAT IS OUTSIDE OF THEIR AGE GROUP?
Possibly. Please speak to Kate for approval.
CAN I SWITCH CAMPS ONCE I HAVE ALREADY REGISTERED?
Possibly, based on availability. There will be a $25 change fee per camp change.
CAN I ADD LUNCH, BEFORE AND/OR AFTER CARE AT A LATER DATE?
Yes, but please note that the hot lunch option must be added at least a week in advance.
WHAT TYPE OF COMMITMENT IS REQUIRED FOR CLASSES?
Our STEM and cooking classes all run on a semester schedule: September to December, January to March and April to June.
Tutoring runs on a month to month basis.
IS THERE A TRIAL LESSON AVAILABLE?
Yes, we offer free trial lessons on a case by case basis. Please contact us for more information.
ARE THERE PREREQUISITES FOR THE CLASSES?
There are no prerequisites for the classes currently offered.
ARE THERE SIBLING DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE?
