“I believe that in every artistic piece, there is conflict between the subject matters and the mediums used to create the work, and my role is to find the balance through artistic expression. Freedom of materials is crucial to this process; thus, I utilize a broad range of mediums including photographic images, video installations, paintings, drawings, macromedia pieces and graphic illustrations. I am looking forward to the journey with my team in Renaissance Kids look forward to all the adventures in this dedicated environment.”

Dance InstructorKrista is an amazing Dance Instructor who we’re fortunate to call our teammate! She has been dancing since the age of 3 and has had a passion for it ever since. Her mother owned a dance studio in Summerland, BC where she trained in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and musical theatre and gained the opportunity to begin teaching. She was actively involved in her high school musicals and after graduation attended the Dance Centre Pre-Professional program in Mission where she furthered her ballet and pointe training as well as her teaching career. Krista furthered her education by attending the Canadian College of Performing Arts and continued to develop her acting, singing, and dancing skills. From this program, Krista holds an Enriched Performing Arts Diploma. After graduating she continued to perform on stage with the Pacific Opera Victoria in productions such as La Traviata and Countess Maritza as well as many other musical productions in Victoria. Now that she has moved to Richmond, Krista looks forward to further developing her teaching career and to share her passion with others. Her hope is to light a spark in each student’s imagination and share her love of dance with everyone!
Performing Arts Coordinator and Music Teacher
Miss Tessa loves being the Music Teacher at The Renaissance Academy of Learning! She works hard to deliver a hand-crafted music curriculum that is specific to each age-group of young learners. Incorporating elements of history, theory, and music appreciation, Miss Tessa enjoys finding new ways of keeping music education fresh, exciting, and accessible for all different types of learners! Her teaching technique is based on the foundations of Orff and Kodály instruction, and her classes are often a blend of sensory, multimedia, and creative activity. Miss Tessa’s musical background is comprehensive, starting piano lessons at a young age, and beginning professional singing lessons at the age of 11. Some of her fondest musical memories are from her early years! With a strong foundation in musical theatre, choir, drama, theory, and dance, her early passion for music set the stage for a lifelong adventure of exploration and education. Recently completing her Bachelor of Music degree at the University of British Columbia, Miss Tessa specialized in opera performance and was heavily involved both on and off the stage. She was honored to sing roles in operas such as Carmen, Il Tabarro, and Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute), but most notably, she was honored to sing the role of ‘Krystina’ in the Canadian premiere of Pasażerka (The Passenger). Miss Tessa was the recipient of the Madame Rosa Bok-Falkson Centennial Scholars Major Entrance Award in Opera, and the Dr. Peter M. Brown Choral Award, and has performed across North America and Europe. Her highlights include being the soloist for John Corigliano’s Artist in Residence performance of ‘Fern Hill’, and touring with the National Youth Choir of Canada. Miss Tessa loves dogs, puppets, and her family. In her free time, you can find her painting or reading a good book!

Miss Fatma attended a French school in High School, which cemented her love for the language and for teaching, and she went on to receive her Bachelor in Educator, specializing in the French language. After University, she became a full-time teacher at a high school, first in Cairo, Egypt, then Dubai, UAE – and love it. We are certainly honoured to have her be a part of our Renaissance Kids Team.
“I’m happy to call Renaissance Kids home. As a French teacher, I found my students’ dedication and the friendliness and support of the Renaissance Kids staff very heartwarming and a big point of pride for me. Furthermore, I recognize that acquiring a second or third language, whatever it may be, is healthy for the brain’s function and an important skill to have. I am always conscious and proactive in ensuring that this learning process is exciting and enjoyable for the students, and in return, I get the experience of watching my students develop their French language and communication skills.
It is an honor to be part of your child’s educational journey and I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know all of you.”
